After Your Treatment

What to expect

It’s completely normal to still see dead lice or nits after treatment, especially after a severe case. Our dimethicone treatment works by suffocating lice; it doesn’t dissolve them, so leftover debris can remain even after a thorough comb-out. Mild itching can continue for a few days up to two weeks as the scalp heals, that’s not a sign of new lice. If you notice new movement or nits close to the scalp, please reach out. Otherwise, you’re likely on track

Here’s likely what’s happening

  • Dimethicone kills by suffocation, not by dissolving. So you may still see many dead bugs and eggs.

  • After the first comb-out, some residue can remain near the scalp.

  • You’ll often need to comb again 1–2 days later.

For Severe Cases

After a severe case, even when you’ve done a great treatment and comb-out, it’s normal to still see a lot of dead lice and nits.

Follow-up and Guarantee

We recommend booking your follow-up 5–7 days after treatment to confirm there’s been no new exposure. Especially since work, school, camp, and other activities often involve close contact.
